German Chistyakov will take the post of general director of Omsk “Avant-garde “, according to the press service of the hockey club.
The official will take office on August 1.
— Being part of Avangard is a great honor and a great responsibility. The club is known in Russia, as well as well beyond its borders, it is a strong brand that unites hundreds of thousands of supporters. Avangard has a very strong sports block, the trade and marketing block works perfectly, the academy is developing well, my task is to make this development only accelerate.
For me, the appointment at Avangard is perhaps the biggest challenge of my career. My ambitions are the highest. We need to make Avangard a consistent long-term success: in results on the ice, in the development of young Omsk hockey players, in communicating with fans, in creating attractive products for partners and the most exciting media content. We are already starting from a high point, Avangard is a top club in every way. But it is in our power to make it even stronger and brighter! Chistyakov said.
– It is important for us not only to maintain, but also to increase the positions that Avangard has achieved in recent years, both in sport and in terms of youth hockey development, trade, marketing and media. After learning of Sergei Belykh’s decision to leave the club, it was important for us to find a person familiar with the specifics of working in a professional team for the position of general manager. German Chistyakov is a well-known person in sports, has extensive managerial experience, during his career he worked both at and in football, he knows sports from all sides. I am sure that German Anatolyevich will be as effective as possible in his new position, and with his arrival Omsk hockey will receive a new stage in its development,” added Mikhail Averin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Avangard.
Previously, Chistyakov held the position of general manager of football clubs Anji, Greek PAOK and Bulgarian Botev. He was also the head of the Russian Football Union (RFU) project office, which drew up a package of Russian football reforms.
