Auction house Sotheby’s reported that it valued the legendary Canadian hockey player’s stick at $300-500,000. Wayne Gretzky which he played in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1988.
In 1988, Gretzky won the Stanley Cup for the fourth time and received the Conn Smythe Trophy, which is awarded to the most valuable player in the NHL playoffs. In 19 playoff games, he scored 43 (12+31) points.
“This iconic sporting artifact is a testament to Gretzky’s unparalleled craftsmanship and unparalleled ability to lead his team to victory,” read a note for the online auction, which ends July 25.
In June, Gretzky’s jersey from his last NHL game was auctioned off for $715,000.
During his NHL career, the Canadian scored 2857 (894 + 1963) points in 1487 games.
