Double Olympic champion Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement, according to the press service of the National Hockey League club “Boston Bruins” .
The 37-year-old hockey player has spent his entire career with Boston, which selected him in the 2003 draft under 45th overall.
In total, he played 1294 games in the regular NHL championship and scored 1040 (427 + 613) points. In the playoffs, he has 170 games and 128 (50+78) points.
Bergeron won the Stanley Cup in 2011. He is also a World Champion, World Cup winner, member of the Triple Golden Club.
Bergeron won the Frank J. Selkey Trophy for best defensive forward a record six times.
