Russian hockey player was in intensive care with an overdose – media

Former Spartak and Ak Bars player Alexander Chirva was taken to intensive care “with signs of an overdose of narcotic substances”, reports Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The hockey player was discovered by doctors in a building in Odintsovo near Moscow.

– 26-year-old Alexander Chirva was taken to one of the Moscow region hospitals. He was unconscious and was rushed to the intensive care unit. Doctors diagnosed the athlete with an overdose of narcotic substances, a source told KP.

The police would investigate the case. Chirva’s health status is unreported at this time.

At the dawn of his career, the striker played for Spartak, Atlanta and Ak Bars youth teams, and also spent two seasons in Canada at junior league clubs. Until 2020 he also played in Belarus, after which he spent the season with the Zauralye VHL team.

In the 2021/22 season, Cherva was not registered with any club.
