Beijing Olympics silver medalist Ivan Fedotov said he was trying not to focus on the fact that the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) had yet to make a decision regarding his contract with CSKA .
In the summer of 2022, Fedotov signed a rookie contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, but was called up for military service. At the end of his service, he signed a two-year deal with CSKA, which was registered by the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in July. Earlier, the IIHF announced that it was continuing to investigate the situation with Fedotov’s contract.
– This situation – as you rightly say, “in a suspended state” – is not comfortable for anyone. But now it has become calmer, because my task is to go out and play, to improve, to live up to what is expected of me and the team as a whole.
So I just focus on the workflow – on training, understanding tactics, etc. Splashing on some outer experiences is not very correct now. I focus on myself, I want to get back to my daily routine – and that’s it,” Fedotov told Gazeta.ru.
