The fifteenth season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) will begin on September 1, 2022 with a game for the Opening Cup, according to the league’s website.
The KHL and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RHF) have agreed on the structure of the 2022/2023 season.
The opening Cup match between current Cup owner Gagarin Moscow CSKA and last season’s runner-up Magnitogorsk”metallurgist will take place in Moscow.
The KHL regular season will last until February 26, 2023, the Gagarin Cup will be held from March 1 to April 29. The teams are expected to play 68 games in the regular season. This decision must be approved by the KHL Board of Directors.
The regular season is scheduled to have an international break from December 12-18, 2022.
