SKA will invite Kostomarov to the KHL Championship game in St. Petersburg

SKA Head Coach Romain Rotenberg told that he would like to invite an Olympic figure skating champion to one of the regular KHL championship games in St. Petersburg Roman Kostomarov.

Kostomarov has suffered several amputations since January after being hospitalized. In early July, the athlete announced that he was discharged from the hospital, since then videos with the adaptation process appeared on his social networks.

– It’s a good idea. We will discuss it. Of course, we will contact Roman and invite him to our house. If there is an opportunity, it would be great for this brave athlete to come to us. Maybe even tomorrow we will send this invitation – to come to us for hockey in St. Petersburg. We have great respect for these people and would organize a high-level meeting. The whole country was worried about Kostomarov,” Rotenberg said in an interview with .

Kostomarov, paired with Tatyana Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin in ice dancing. In addition, the duo won twice at the world championships, three times at the European championships.
