Striker “Sochi” Borna Rendulich spoke about his first impressions of the Black Sea team and also said that the Leopards will have a chance to reach the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs.
The new KHL season begins on September 1. Rendulich signed a contract with Sochi at the end of May. Previously, the Croatian played in the Vityaz league near Moscow, played 95 KHL games and scored 43 points (22 goals and 21 assists).
– First impressions? To be honest, a very good team. Before the finish, I didn’t know what to expect, but we have a young team, everyone skates well, everyone knows how to play. It remains to gain confidence, and we are doing it at the moment.
We have already seen that we are capable of playing against the best teams. But at the same time, you always have to keep in mind that we are not the favorites in the championship, so you have to show team play, play for each other. If we manage to do this all season, we will have a good chance of getting into the playoffs, – quotes the words of Rendulic “Championship”.
