Russian junior team (no older than 18) in hockey was defeated by the team of Belarus in the opening match at the stadium “Siberia-Arena”.
The match in Novosibirsk ended with the score 3:1. Among the winners, Ilya Protas, Dmitry Khobyan and Ilya Lakhnov scored goals. The Russians scored Aleksey Dontsov.
Before the game, the opening ceremony of the Siberia Arena took place, which was attended by, among others, the President of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak and the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov. The stadium will become the home of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) club “Siberia”.
David Nemirovsky’s team will start the season on September 2 with an away match against Avangard Omsk, Sibir will play their first home game on September 7 against Kazakhstan’s Barys.
