general manager “Avant-garde” Anton Kuryanov spoke about the negotiation process with the club’s former striker Sergei Tolchinsky .
Tolchinsky has been playing for Avangard Omsk since 2020, the contract with which the hockey player expired at the end of the season has ended. In the 2020/21 season, the striker from the Omsk club won the Gagarin Cup. Now Tolchinsky has signed a five-year contract with SKA.
– There was a chance to leave Tolchinsky and Gritsyuk in Avangard. The same Tolchinsky himself says that he spoke directly with Krylov, and I was present at these meetings. There are no secrets here. But Sergei made his choice to pursue his career. Yes, from the club management there was such a condition that Tolchinsky negotiated without an agent. But what’s wrong with that? He might say, “No, I’m not ready, I don’t like it, I went to another team.” But he came to speak! So he accepted that, even in the context of coordinating everything with the agent. Many are now trying to think of something, but he came and spoke, – said Kuryanov “Championship”.
Last season, Tolchinsky scored 56 (16 goals + 40) points in 68 regular season games, adding 7 (5 + 2) points in 14 playoff games. The Omsk club reached the final of the Eastern Conference, where they lost to Ak Bars (1–4).
