General manager of a hockey club “Avant-garde” Anton Kuryanov told how the negotiations with striker Vladimir Tkachev on a new contract went.
In August, Tkachev signed a new three-year contract with Avangard worth 300 million rubles. The striker will become the highest paid player in the KHL.
– Negotiations with Vladimir Tkachev can be divided into two stages: one took place under the old leader – Alexander Krylov, the other under the new one – Mikhail Averin. And there was a completely different take on the situation. If we talk about the first stage, I had no confidence in anything, while at the second stage a specific task was set to save Tkachev. Under the condition of a vacuum – if we talk about top hockey players – the market, it was a priority goal for the club, – quotes the words of Kuryanov “Championship”.
Last season, Tkachev played 78 games for the Hawks in the regular season and KHL playoffs, scored 73 points (26 goals and 47 assists).
