“The question of the possible impact of this situation on Russia’s relations with the International Ice Hockey Federation and the National Hockey League has aroused interest. Recently, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has made several decisions that are not entirely clear and cannot be properly substantiated.
The process of making these decisions remains a mystery, and neither the Russian Ice Hockey Federation nor other participants in this process can get clear explanations. We continue to maintain a working relationship with all stakeholders and, in the face of unclear decisions, we approach formally to try to clarify the reasons and justification for those decisions. Our approach is not aimed at creating conflicts, but, unfortunately, international partners sometimes point to preconditions such as the situation with Ivan Fedotov, which can contribute to the emergence of conflicts.
Therefore, we will follow the development of events, as the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and CSKA are actively dealing with this issue. We are confident that common sense will prevail and the right decisions will be made,” Kadyrov said in an interview with TASS.
Recall that the IIHF decided to impose a one-year ban on international transfers for CSKA and disqualify Fedotov for four months.
