Athletistic/Hockey. The President of the International Ice Hockey Federation, Luc Tardif, has informed that the CSKA Moscow team has lodged an official protest against the decision taken by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) regarding the situation related to the contract of the Russian goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov.

“Today we received official documents in which CSKA and Ivan Fedotov himself appealed against the measures taken. I will not give my personal opinion on this now,” Tardif told RIA Novosti Sport.

Recall that previously the IIHF conducted an audit of the contracts concluded between the goalkeeper and the hockey clubs “Philadelphia Flyers” and CSKA, in order to identify compliance with international transfer rules. As a result of the investigation, it was decided to impose sanctions on the CSKA team in the form of a one-year ban on international transfers, and on goalkeeper Fedotov – a four-month disqualification. The start date of the suspension corresponds to the date of CSKA’s first match of the 2023/2024 season.
