Forward CSKA Ivan Yanchenko told how the army team helped the goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov return to the line-up after a long break.
CSKA beat Dynamo Minsk 3-2 in a pre-season game on Saturday. The army team scored three goals at the start of the second period – Konstantin Okulov, Pavel Karnaukhov and Ivan Yanchenko scored. In the first half of the match, Fedotov defended the gates of CSKA. The goalkeeper hasn’t played for CSKA for over a year, since he served in the army.
– This is the first game after a two-week training camp. Did your legs run?
“They didn’t run like that. But the guys tried, pulled everything out of themselves. In general, it’s good to play after training camp. And in general, there’s no haven’t had games for a long time. It’s new emotions, we miss you. And everything went well.
– At the start of the second period, CSKA took three shots and scored three goals. How did it happen?
– We started quickly, or maybe the opponent didn’t find concentration immediately after the break. Because of these quick goals, we took the initiative.
– The Minskers dominated you at the start. It seemed to me that CSKA fought for Fedotov.
– Well, yes, Vanya played the first game after a long break. Everyone helped him, played for each other. The opponent started with shooting aggression, but we got there.
– And someone will say that you didn’t help Fedotov very well.
– Well, how did you not help? He caught, we took the pucks on us. We did everything we could,” Yanchenko told .
Ivan Fedotov last played for CSKA on April 30, 2022, when he won the Gagarin Cup in the final against Metallurg.
