Farewell ceremony for a hockey player “Salavat Yulayev” Rodion Amirov finished in Ufa, the club’s press service reports.
The farewell took place on Monday at the Ufa-Arena. A mourning meeting was also held in memory of Amirov, SU supporters lit flares in the colors of the Ufa club. The funeral column proceeded along the road from Ufa to the Ishimbay region, where Amirov will be buried.
The death of the hockey player was known on August 14. In February 2022, the player was diagnosed with a brain tumor and in April of the same year, the 21-year-old Salavat graduate underwent chemotherapy courses.
Amirov played 79 KHL games for Salavat Yulaev, scoring 18 points (10+8). He was selected 15th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2020 NHL Draft.
