Moscow Coach CSKA Sergei Fedorov said the Army Club was the favorite heading into the new KHL season.
CSKA have won the Gagarian Cup for the past two seasons.
– Winning the third Gagarin Cup in a row is both difficult and realistic. Then we can say whatever we want. Hockey is a fair game, cut a corner – there will be no result, if dealt – there will be. We like to win, to please the fans. We have a good team that we managed to keep. Why not, no one forbids dreaming.
We have enough newcomers who came from the VHL, the youth team. We continue to develop this orientation in line with the current situation. We rely on our guys. What’s surprising is that all the guys we’ve invited to training camp are showing a phenomenal level. They understand that we really count on them. The favorite is CSKA, and life will judge,” Fedorov said on Special Reporting on the channel.
The new KHL season kicks off on September 1 with the opening Cup game between CSKA and Ak Bars.
