Before Auston Matthews entered into a new contract with “Toronto Maple Leafs” according to the NHL club’s website.
The agreement with the 25-year-old American is designed for four years, it will come into effect at the end of the 2023/24 season. Matthews’ average annual salary will be $13.25 million.
In the 2016 draft, the forward was selected by Toronto with the first overall number. In total, in the regular NHL championships, he played 481 games, scored 542 points (299 goals and 243 assists), in the playoffs, Matthews scored 44 points (22+22) in 50 games.
Matthews has twice won the Maurice Richard Trophy and has also each won the Calder Trophy, the Hart Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award.
