Thanks to Dynamo captain Andrei Mironov, defender Brennan Menell noticeable progress in the study of the Russian language, said the general director of the Moscow hockey club, Sergei Sushko.
This summer, American defender Menell received Russian sports citizenship and lost his KHL Legionnaire status.
– Our captain Andrei Mironov is shy, did not speak. But he forbade (Menell) to speak English until dinner. That’s why, thanks to our captain, language progress is happening at a very fast pace,” Sushko said with a smile.
– In general, Menell is a great guy, he perfectly joined our team even before starting the process of obtaining Russian citizenship. He is actually making progress in terms of the Russian language. I think by the end of the season it will be good to talk. I am happy that he made such a decision,” said correspondent Mironov.
On Thursday, Dynamo lost to CSKA 2-3 in the Moscow Mayor’s Cup pre-season tournament.
The new KHL season begins on September 1.
