Kazan hockey playersAkbarsa “defeated Magnitogorsk”Metallurgist during the game of the Governor’s Cup pre-season tournament of the Chelyabinsk region.
The match, held on Saturday in Chelyabinsk, ended with the score 5:2 (2:0, 1:1, 2:1) in favor of the Kazan club. Among the winners, Kirill Semenov (5th minute), Daniil Zhuravlev (14th), Ilya Safonov (36th), Alexander Radulov (49th) and Stanislav Galiev (59th) scored goals. Grigory Dronov (21) and Maxim Karpov (41) scored goals for Metallurg.
Metallurg lost all three tournament matches.
The new KHL season will kick off on September 1 with the Cup opener between CSKA and Ak Bars. Magnitogorsk will start the season with an away game against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on September 2.
