Tardif clarified that such decisions should be made by the leagues and not the IIHF. In case Fedotov still takes part in the matches, the International Federation will start disciplinary proceedings, as Tardif pointed out in a statement to TASS.
Previously, the IIHF imposed a suspension on Fedotov for a period of four months, prohibiting him from participating in matches at the national and international level. This is due to the situation around Fedotov’s contract with the Philadelphia team. The CSKA team itself contests this decision of the International Federation and intends to include Fedotov in the composition for the opening of the new KHL season against Ak Bars. Note that this match is scheduled for September 1 in Moscow and will start at 7:00 p.m. Moscow time.
