Ice casting tests in the new Yekaterinburg hockey arena should take place in a few months, Avtomobilist director Maxim Ryabkov said.
The new arena will have a capacity of 12,000 spectators. NOW “Motorist ” performs at KRK “Uralets” in front of 5545 spectators.
– The construction of the arena is proceeding as usual, the plan is the same, it was adjusted earlier. The material has been purchased, thank God. We hope that by the new year there will be an ice filling test. Refrigeration units are installed, engineering equipment is in order. The builders have been staying inside the building since the spring. The degree of readiness increases every month. We hope that the schedule will be maintained. It would be nice if December 2024 was crowned with the launch of the arena,” Ryabkov told a press conference.
In mid-August, a small fire broke out at the arena’s construction site.
Avtomobilist was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season, losing in the series to Metallurg 3-4. The new Fonbet KHL Championship starts on September 1st.
