The League has confirmed the registration of CSKA’s bid in the central information base of the KHL.
Morozov also pointed out that the KHL and the CSKA club expressed their disagreement with the decision of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), which challenges the constitutional rights of a Russian citizen. The Prosecutor General’s Office defended Fedotov and issued a warning to the Russian Hockey Federation, the KHL and the club, stressing the unacceptability of restricting a Russian citizen’s right to work.
Previously, Fedotov returned from the army after completing his military service and signed a contract with CSKA. However, the IIHF recognized this contract as invalid due to the goalkeeper’s ties to the Philadelphia club.
Following the IIHF investigation, Fedotov was suspended from competition for four months and CSKA was banned from international transfers for a year.
