Down-the-line.com/Hockey. Former Russian national team coach Vladimir Plushev has shared his opinion on CSKA’s start in the new KHL season. The Moscow team in the first three matches of the season suffered two defeats, losing to Ak Bars (2:5) and Metallurg (2:4).

According to Plushev, CSKA is concerned with the case of goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov. He was suspended by the IIHF due to a contract situation with the Philadelphia Flyers. Despite the disqualification, the goalkeeper was already on the ice.

“In the pre-season games, there was no indication that CSKA would have any problems. In August, the team seemed balanced, the combinations played were visible, the majority looked promising.

But the regular season has started – and many positive moments have disappeared. Agree, Kazan, one of the favorites of the season, but CSKA did not look better in terms of play and other rivals – “Magnitogorsk” and “Admiral”. This is one of the surprises at the start.

Metallurg beat CSKA in the KHL

In my opinion, CSKA is interfering with the Fedotov affair. It diverts attention from the game, psychologically presses, takes away emotions. It catches the eye.

Also, do not forget that CSKA was the last to come out of the holidays. There was a short pre-season, then three games in five days. A year ago, the “army team” also slowly entered the championship, but the team still avoided such a difficult start, ”quotes Russia-Hockey plus Plushev.
