Zhamnov took charge of Spartak last summer. Before that, he was the head coach of the Russian national team, with which he won silver at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. Pashin joined Spartak in the offseason on loan from the Carolina Hurricanes. The 21-year-old forward spent last season with AHL club Chicago Wolves, for whom he scored 10 points (4+6) in 47 games.
