Athletistic/Hockey. International Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Luc Tardif has expressed his comments regarding the decision of the organization’s council regarding CSKA goaltender Ivan Fedotov.
“The IIHF Council will continue to fight for compliance with the rules after the second and third violations related to the participation of goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov in CSKA matches. Our organization persistently defends respect for order, as well as the principle key to “respect for the contract” and the IIHF transfer regulations. Stay tuned for the next press releases, a press release which will be published on our website in the coming days”, underlined Tardif in an interview with SE.
This season, Fedotov played three matches for CSKA.
On September 1, the IIHF fined the Russian Ice Hockey Federation 5,000 Swiss francs for Fedotov’s participation in a KHL match. The Russian goaltender took to the ice in the opening game of the KHL season against Ak Bars.
