Athletistic / Hockey. Former Czech goaltender Dominik Hasek admitted to writing a letter to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. The legendary goalkeeper asked the commissioner not to allow the Russians to play in the championship.

After the start of the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine, Hasek repeatedly criticized the Russian authorities. He also called on the NHL to ditch Russians on league teams.

Hasek reacted to Fetisov’s proposal to return all money earned in Russia

“I’m not sure I said send the Russians home. I wrote to Mr. Bettman and said, ‘Please pay every penny of their contracts, but don’t let them go on the ice and play,’” Hasek said.
