The first “Green Derby” of the season ended with the victory of the Ufa club with a score of 3:2. For Ak Bars, Dmitry Kagarlitsky and Stanislav Galiev scored goals in the 4th and 7th minutes respectively. Vyacheslav Leshchenko scored twice for the winners in the 11th and 33rd minutes. Ivan Drozdov scored the winning goal for the Ufa team
Salavat Yulaev, after scoring 6 points in 5 matches, occupies 6th place in the Eastern Conference. “Ak Bars” was defeated after two victorious matches and, having collected 8 points in 6 matches, occupies 3rd place in the East.
The meeting started within the first 5 minutes. Less than four minutes later, the visitors managed to score Samonov’s goal. Dmitry Yashkin, who gathered all five Ufa players, passed the ball to Kagarlitsky, who did not make the strongest shot, but the puck, hitting Samonov’s helmet, flew past the goalkeeper and flew into the goal from his shield. The Kazan team dominated on the ice and was able to increase their lead three minutes later. Stanislav Galiev made a powerful throw and hit Samonov’s goal.
But the Kazan team could not hold the score for long. Yashkin and Semyonov went to the penalty box for the guests, and Salavat did not forgive Ak Bars for this. Khmelevski passed the ball to Vyacheslav Leshchenko, who quickly sent the puck into Bilyalov’s goal. At the end of the first period, there were more collisions on the ice and fewer dangerous moments.
In the second period, the number of shots decreased significantly. The teams didn’t shoot much, but the period wasn’t without goals. The Ufa team equalized the score. And again Leshchenko scored a goal from a pass from Khmelevski, throwing it into the far corner.
In the third period, anyone could have taken the advantage. The teams covered each other in their zones, but the home team was more persistent. The Ufa team pinned Ak Bars in their goal, and Ivan Drozdov dealt with Dmitry Yudin and Timur Bilyalov and sent the puck into the almost empty goal.
“A very emotional match. Such emotions at the start of the season. We believed in ourselves, then the emotions appeared. And then we played on the emotions. The supporters were the seventh platoon. They had great moments, but Samonov kept us in the match,” said Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Kozlov after the victory.
“Both teams prepared for this match, they wanted to win, to show good hockey. We achieved a lot, but unfortunately we missed our minority and our majority. That’s what we lacked. The opponent added and we started playing incorrectly. These factors had an impact,” Bilyaletdinov commented on his team’s defeat.
Thus ended the first “Green Derby” of the season. “Ak Bars” could not win back. The second derby will take place in Kazan on September 24.
