Athletistic/Hockey. Captain and forward of the Washington Capitals and the Russian national team, Alexander Ovechkin, turned 38 today, September 17.
The future legend of world sports was born on September 17, 1985 in Moscow. Ovechkin graduated from the Moscow Dynamo school. In 2004, he was selected by Washington with the first pick in the NHL draft. Alexander traveled to North America in the fall of 2005. During the 2017–18 season, the Great Eight helped the Capitals win the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history.
As of December 2022, Ovechkin has clearly moved into second place in NHL history in goals scored. Currently, he has 822 accurate shots in the NHL regular season. The record holder is Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, who made 894 accurate shots during his league career.
