The National Hockey League team changed ownership after management approval.
According to The Messenger, the decision was made unanimously by the NHL Board of Governors. Andlauer and a group of investors agreed to buy the Senators in June, and on August 28 the league’s executive committee approved the deal. Sales are now officially over.
Note that the previous owner, Eugene Melnyk, died at the end of last year. After that, the club was inherited by his daughters. However, the latter did not want to have a sports business and decided to remove the team.
We remind you Ottawa Senators appeared in the 1990 league. In its history, the club has reached the playoffs 16 times, and in 2007 it reached the Stanley Cup final. However, in recent years the club from the Canadian capital has not had much success. The team has not made the playoffs since 2017.
