Omsk”Avant-garde ” obtained the sporting rights of the 27-year-old defender Sergei Boykov following an exchange with Dynamo Moscow, reports the press service of the KHL team from Omsk.
The hockey player signed a two-year contract. Dynamo received monetary compensation.
— Boykov has experience playing abroad, went through the North American hockey school and has qualities that are important for our team. He is disciplined, plays moderately hard, knows how to block shots and defend his teammates. We hope that at Avangard Sergei will reach the peak of his form and strengthen the defense of our team,” said Avangard general director Anton Kuryanov.
Boykov played in the North American minor leagues and was drafted by NHL club the Colorado Avalanche. He is a silver medalist at the 2016 World Junior Championships.
In the KHL, he spent four seasons with Dynamo and in 138 matches he scored 19 points (3 goals + 16 assists) with a rating of “+9”.
