Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has addressed rumors surrounding his possible trade to another NHL team.
“Where did the rumors come from that I was asking for a trade to Washington? It didn’t happen that I came and said, ‘Trade me.'” This all unfolds over time, like a snowball, accumulating back and forth.” Rumors just happen. “They won’t appear out of nowhere. This has been going on for two years. It seems like we sat down with the general manager and talked like we should after the season: you come, sit down for an hour, talk to him. We agreed with him that we will try to change the situation for the better, so that the club and I feel better and I don’t feel like I’m an extra player in the team. not conversations like: “We would have won if you had played better.”
This is the conversation we had. And it all adds up,” Kuznetsov said in a video on the Slippery Ice YouTube channel.
Evgeny Kuznetsov played 81 games in the last regular NHL championship and scored 55 (12+43) points in the goal+pass system, which made the 31-year-old Russian the best assistant in the capital.
His contract with Washington is valid until the end of the 2024/2025 season. Kuznetsov’s NHL salary is currently $7.8 million.
