Athletistic / Hockey. Dynamo Moscow striker Eric O’Dell discussed the scandalous situation with CSKA goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov. The Russian plays for the KHL military club, despite being disqualified by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
“I don’t know what happens in the story with Fedotov. To be honest, it’s none of my business, but it seems to me that no one knows what to expect next. But it’s their decision.
Am I afraid that the IIHF sanctions could affect other KHL players, especially foreign players? To be honest, I don’t know what my answer was, I’m not really. Now “Dynamo” plays matches and, in general, I don’t care,” O’Dell was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
On August 14, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) imposed sanctions on CSKA, banning the military team from international transfers for the entire 2023/2024 season. The IIHF also suspended Ivan Fedotov until December 31, 2023. However, on September 1, the goaltender took to the ice in the opening match of the KHL season against Ak Bars (2:5) .
This season in the KHL, Ivan Fedotov, despite the ban from the IIHF, played five matches and conceded 12 goals.
