Athletistic / Hockey. Dynamo Moscow striker Eric O’Dell said that last summer he had a difficult negotiation process with the club over a new contract.
“My agent took care of all these matters, he was the one who led all the negotiations. I just went home – I knew I wanted to stay at Dynamo, and I just went home to enjoy the Summer I was in no hurry. I understood that I would get a job in the KHL anyway, but, of course, I wanted to return from vacation to Dynamo.
When Dynamo signed Paquette, the situation became a little more complicated, since at that time all three vacant foreign positions in the club were already filled. It took us a while to figure out how to make a contract with me too. Because I myself wanted to return to Moscow and the club wanted to see me in their squad, but there was no place left. And then, with great success, Menell became a Russian citizen, after which I was able to get a place in the team. If Brennan had not received a Russian passport, I would have had to change teams,” O’Dell quoted “Championship” as saying.
Brennan Menell announced his desire to obtain Russian citizenship in April 2023 and on August 9, the 26-year-old American received Russian sports citizenship.
Eric O’Dell appeared in nine KHL regular season games and scored 8 (4+4) points using the goal+pass system.
