“The line and behavior of the international hockey community was clear and remains clear to this day. In order for Russia and Belarus to return to international competitions, a special operation must be carried out (the wording was changed in accordance with the requirements of Roskomnadzor ),,” quotes Ilta-Sanomat Nummela.
The Russian national hockey team, for political reasons, did not participate in the last two world championships, which were held in Finland and Latvia in 2022 and 2023. In addition, the IIHF has already announced that the he Russian national team would miss the 2024 World Championships, which will be held in the Czech Republic.
