In the 2022/23 season, the Rangers were eliminated in the first round of the NHL playoffs, losing in seven games to the New Jersey Devils.

“Last season I felt really bad because we were in a situation where we could have won the (Stanley) Cup. That’s what we thought before the series started. We had a great team, then we lost after leading 2:0 – and mainly thanks to my play,” noted the striker.

“You can’t forget that easily.” Only hockey will probably help me. If I start playing (well), I will start feeling good,” he added.

Last season, Panarin scored 92 points (29 goals + 63 assists) in 82 regular season games and only made 2 assists in 7 playoff games.
