Russian defender “Calgary » Nikita Zadorov sparked a massive brawl during an NHL preseason game against Seattle when he defended his partner.
At the end of the first period, with the score 1:1, Seattle forward Marjan Studenich made a powerful blow against Calgary forward Jacob Pelletier. Zadorov went to Studenich and got into a fight, which was almost immediately joined by other players of the team who were on the ice at that time.
Following this episode, Zadorov received a 2-minute penalty for roughness and Studenich received a disciplinary sanction for the remainder of the match for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The match ended with a score of 5:3 in favor of Seattle.
