The 62-year-old Russian specialist has been leading the Nizhny Novgorod team since April 2022. Last season, Torpedo took fourth place in the Western Conference in the regular season and reached the second round of the KHL playoffs, where he lost against SKA Saint Petersburg (0-4 in the series).
This KHL season, the Nizhny Novgorod team played 12 matches and scored 19 points, being the leader not only in the Western Conference, but also in the league summary table.
