According to Metaratings.ru, this is the best result since 2019. Compared to last season, the audience for matches increased by an average of 1,500 people, which is equivalent to 32.1%. For the first time after seasons of Covid restrictions, viewership of KHL games began to increase. In the 2019/2020 season, the average attendance for matches in the first month of the regular KHL championship was 6,745 spectators.
Attendance increased not only in Vityaz, near Moscow. Additionally, the comparison did not take into account the home matches of Avangard and Lada. The Togliatti team spent last season in the VHL, while the Omsk team spent September 2022 entirely on the road, waiting for the new arena to open.
The best home attendance at the start of the season was that of Dynamo Minsk (an average of 12,799 spectators in five matches), the worst was that of Red Star Kunlun (1,020 people in six matches). The only club to have played all of its matches with 100% occupancy of its stands was Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo (5,500 spectators in seven matches on its ice).
