The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the St. Louis Blues in a National Hockey League (NHL) preseason game.
The meeting took place in Columbus and ended with a score of 5:3 (3:0, 1:2, 1:1) in favor of the hosts, who scored goals from Kirill Marchenko, Boone Jenner, Justin Danforth, Cole Sillinger and Johnny Goodreau. Additionally, defender Ivan Provorov scored two assists and another Russian, Dmitry Voronkov, scored one assist. Jakub Vrana scored a brace for the guests and Samuel Blaise scored another goal.
In the opening games of the new NHL season, Columbus will play at home against Philadelphia and St. Louis will meet Dallas on the road. Both meetings will take place on October 12.
