Hockey Federation of Ukraine (FHU) fired the head coach Ukrainian national team Vadim Shakhraichuk. Another coach of the national team also resigned, Konstantin Simchuk.

Both specialists wrote statements of resignation of their own free will, which were satisfied by the FHU. The reason for leaving is said to be the desire to concentrate on club work. Let us remind you that Shakhraichuk heads the Kyiv Capitals, Simchuk works on the coaching staff of Sokol.

Let us remind you that earlier journalist Elena Kurbanova reportedthat on May 15, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk informed the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit that the head coach of the Ukrainian national hockey team Vadim Shakhraichuk has a Russian passport.

In early September, the FHU Disciplinary Committee opened a case against Shakhraichuk. Later, the Federation announced the removal of the specialist from his duties as head coach of the Ukrainian national team.

Vadim Shakhraichuk, a former famous striker, participant, Olympic Games 2002, led the Ukrainian national team in March 2021. At the last World Championship 2023 in division 1B, the blue-yellows took second place and were unable to advance in class.
