On Saturday, the Kazakh club fired head coach Andrei Skabelka, who had led the team since June 2022. It is worth noting that the club will later inform about further changes in the coaching staff.
Mambetaliev, 58, has worked in the Barys system since 2009. Under his leadership, the Kazakhstan national team took 11th place at the 2023 World Hockey Championship.
