Athletistic / Hockey. The management of Barys announced the resignation of Andrei Skabelka from the position of head coach of the team.
According to the press service of the Kazakh club, the team’s interim head coach for the upcoming matches will be Galym Mambetaliev, who has worked in the Astana club system since 2009.
Andrey Skabelka led Barys from 2018 to 2020, as well as from May 2022 to the present. Under the leadership of the Belarusian specialist, the Kazakh team twice reached the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference of the Gagarin Cup.
This season, Barys has scored only 11 points in 15 matches and has only three victories. Currently, the Astana team occupies the penultimate, 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
In the next match, Barys will host Chelyabinsk Traktor on their ice. The match will take place in Astana on October 9 and the starting faceoff will take place at 4:30 p.m. Moscow time.
