Athletistic/Hockey. The authoritative North American publication, The Score, has currently compiled a list of the hundred best players in the National Hockey League. It included ten Russian players at once.
The strongest representative of the league, according to journalists, is the captain and forward of the Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid. He is followed by forward Nathan MacKinnon from the Colorado Avalanche and another Oilers representative, Leon Draisaitl.
The best Russian is Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov, who is in eighth place. The top 20 also included Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov (16th) and New York Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin (20th).
Interestingly, Washington Capitals captain and second-highest scorer in NHL history Alexander Ovechkin is only in 34th place. He is ahead of New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin (28th) and Tampa goalie Andrei Vasilevsky (30th).
Next in the top 100 are the Russians Artemy Panarin (40th), Evgeni Malkin (48th) and Andrey Svechnikov (63rd). The only Russian defender on this list was Tampa hockey player Mikhail Sergachev, who took 74th place.
