Athletistic/Hockey. Amur defender Cameron Lee spoke about his life in Russia. In September 2023, the Canadian obtained Russian citizenship by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I really like living in Russia. I want to play in Amur as long as possible. Of course, my passport will help the team, because I will no longer be considered a foreign player in the KHL. Now I am trying “I’m learning Russian on my own with my phone. I try to find out from my teammates, but it’s very difficult. I understand a lot of things, but I still have trouble speaking.
It seems to me that I am very Russian. During my life in your country, I fell in love with public baths and fast driving. I tried the vodka, I liked it, but now I’d better concentrate on hockey. It seems to me that these are ordinary stereotypes,” Lee was quoted as saying by Match TV.
Cameron Lee moved to Amur in the 2022/2023 season. During the current campaign, the 26-year-old Canadian-Russian hockey player played 14 matches and scored 7 (1+6) points using the goal+pass system.
