Athletistic/Hockey. Former NHL defenseman and now noted TSN analyst Frank Corrado shared his thoughts on the success of Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin. The expert believes that the Russian does not have the possibility of reaching the 50-goal mark this season.

“Ovechkin will score 50 goals? That’s fantastic, fantastic! I would suggest betting on a result in the range of 38-42 goals. And it will still be a good season for Alex.

Ovi is the top scorer of all time, but he won’t score 50 goals this season. This is not what Washington aspires to be as a team. Most “metropolitans” will always be good. But they definitely won’t score as much if they play with the same strength. Ovechkin will not flirt with the 50 goal mark this time.

I would say he’ll probably score around 40 goals,” Corrado said on TSN.

Alexander Ovechkin has played for Washington since 2005. The Russian was selected by the Capitals with the first pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He spent his entire career overseas with Washington. In 2018, the Russian helped the Capitals win the first Stanley Cup in club history.

Last season in the NHL, Ovechkin participated in 73 regular season games and scored 75 points for his performance – 42 goals and 33 assists. In total, he has 822 accurate shots in the NHL, making him the second sniper in league history.
