NHL Club Forward”Washington » Alexander Ovechkin called new Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery an energetic guy.
Ovechkin turned 38 on September 17. The Russian scored 822 goals in regular NHL championship matches and won the Stanley Cup as part of a club in the American capital.
The Washington Capitals named Spencer Carbery as head coach in May. Carbery, 41, spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
— I think he’s an energetic guy. He loves being with the players. I love helping. “He’s pretty good,” Ovechkin said in an interview with the Washington press service.
Carbery replaced Peter Laviolette, under whose leadership the Capitals failed to qualify for the playoffs at the end of the NHL regular season.
