Beginner CSKA Yegor Fatev said he had not yet fully realized that he had scored the hockey club’s first goal.
On Saturday, CSKA defeated Sochi in the Fonbet KHL championship match with a score of 2:1. Fateev left Traktor for CSKA following a trade.
— They came out loaded, aiming for the goal. It paid off. They kicked it, resulting in two quick goals. We were hoping for a good start, because in this match we didn’t perform well – we missed a goal early on. So, they wanted to rehabilitate, so it turned out to be a good time.
— How important was it for you to score quickly for CSKA?
— Honestly, I didn’t even think about it. The team’s results are more important to me, doing the right things for CSKA to win. A goal is an added bonus. Of course, it’s nice, great emotions to score in a big club like CSKA. I don’t think I’ve fully realized it yet. I’ll go home and digest it and understand.
— Didn’t you support CSKA when you were a child?
— As a child, I supported the team from the town I grew up in. Now I am here with all my heart and soul.
— Does your goal indicate that adaptation is complete?
“The puck will definitely give you confidence, it will probably be easier in this regard,” Fateev told the correspondent.
