Before “Motorist » Alexey Makeev said the team defeated Vityaz near Moscow in the Fonbet KHL championship match in a tough fight.
On Sunday, Avtomobilist defeated Vityaz in overtime during the KHL regular season with a score of 3:2.
– What a victory, we won two points in a fierce fight, they, as they say, do not smell.
—Was it unexpected to encounter such resistance from Vityaz? They recently changed coaches.
— I expected such resistance, they have a young team, plus they are going through a series of failures and there are a lot of injuries. Young people are taking advantage of their opportunity.
— What did you think when you found yourself again in the role of conqueror, even though you had just equalized in such difficult circumstances?
— I believe in our team, in each partner. I knew it would be a difficult finish, I believed we would equalize.
— Can you say that you gain confidence by winning such matches when you have to win back?
“We basically have a middle-aged team, we need to be able to win back at the end, show qualities of will, and that’s what we did,” Makeev said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Avtomobilist is third in the Eastern Conference standings with 26 points. In the next match, the Yekaterinburg club will host Metallurg Magnitogorsk on October 17.
