Athletistic / Hockey. Ottawa Senators forward Vladimir Tarasenko spoke about his first matches for the Canadian club after the victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning (5:2). The 31-year-old Russian joined the Senators camp last summer.
“Winning is always good. Before the season, there was a lot of talk that a lot of things had changed in the club: the atmosphere, the level of confidence. Now we are playing well, but we can and must improve a lot. So far so good!
My first goal for Ottawa? There’s always pressure when the season starts and you’re trying to score. This is my first season in a new team. I recently had family come visit me, so I’m not going to lie, it’s a big moment for me. The guys created a great chance for me and we won the game as well, so it’s a good day.
It means a lot to me that my family is close now. If I’m not at the rink, I spend all my time with them. I love spending time with them,” Tarasenko was quoted as saying by the Ottawa press service.
Vladimir Tarasenko previously played in the NHL for the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers. In 2019, the Russian helped the Blues win the Stanley Cup.
