A hockey player Ivan Fedotov was arrested after training at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg by unnamed people who loaded him into a van, correspondent Anna Andronova said.
“” filmed a special report with a hockey player for two days. The arrest took place on Friday after filming a training session.
We filmed it all day yesterday. On Friday, we had an appointment at the Palais de Glace at 9 o’clock. We met, filmed a practice session on the ice, in the gym, and then went over the mistakes with the coach. Vanya and I planned to shoot in the palace first and then go and shoot an interview somewhere in the park. Three of us left the palace: me, Vanya and the operator. The parking lot was already crowded. At first glance, there were about ten.
The first thing that caught my attention was that two people were wearing masks and camouflage, the others were in civilian clothes. One of them showed his ID card to Vanya and said something. The dialogue was short, about a minute – I heard nothing. There were four cars without any identifying marks. Three cars and a van, Vanya was put in the van. He said we would go to the place by taxi and then he would contact us.
As he was put in the van, I ran to one of the cars. The man didn’t have time to close the door, I managed to hold it. I ask, “What happened”? They answer me: “Nothing”. At this point, the man kept trying to close the door. I asked where they were from, they said, “It doesn’t matter.” When I asked what we were shooting here, that we were journalists, they replied: “So what?” All this in raw form, now I still tell it calmly. They shouted at me: “My daughter, quickly withdraw your hand.” He slammed the door and they left.
I approached the palace guard. He also didn’t know who these people were, but he said people had been waiting for about an hour. After all that had happened, she wrote to Vanya, asking if he needed help and what had happened in general. An hour later, he asked me if I had disclosed information about the detention. I saw this news on Telegram channels and was stunned. Vanya thought it was me who spread the news, but I didn’t divulge anything. Vanya said he will train in this palace for the first time today, before that he trained elsewhere. It turns out that these employees knew everything and were waiting for him in a particular palace. I was shaking so much, I had no idea who these people were,” Andronova said.
Earlier, the media reported that the search request for 25-year-old Fedotov to the main directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region came from the military prosecutor’s office, where he is considered to be an escapee from the army.
